Every year hundreds of thousands of people try to cross the borders to the European Union as asylum-seekers or illegal immigrants. Carla Gunnesch’s documentary follows four young African men in Berlin whose dreams have long been shattered. Their day-to-day lives consist of fear of identification checks, exploitation as illegal labor, and dwindling hopes for a brighter future.
